My TOP 10 favourite opera scenes.

I just thought I would share which scenes in opera trigger me to cry (either in joy or out of a sense of overwhelming musical tragedy), and encourage others to comment with their own favourites (mine are in no particular order).

4: Giacomo Meyerbeer: Roi du ciel et des anges from act 3 of Le Prophete.

5. Pietro Mascagni: Inno del Sole from act 1 of Iris.

6. Antonio Carlos Gomes: Finale of Il Guarany.

7. Ferenc Erkel: Finale of Hunyadi Laszlo.

8. Zacharia Paliashvili: Finale of Abesalom da Eteri.
